Finance Director, Asia
Summary
Our client is a leading provider of integrated automation technology, software, and services that help optimize supply chains. We are seeking an experienced Finance Director Asia responsible for leading the financial strategy, planning, analysis, and operations across the Asia region. This role leads and partners closely with regional leadership and global finance to support business growth, ensure compliance, and drive operational excellence in financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Controlling the organization’s Accounting and Finance operations to ensure accurate and timely reporting, control of funds, capital expenditure and management of assets and drive rigor in control of costs.
- Ensuring compliance with Accounting and Treasury company policies, Business Conduct Guidelines, and statutory and legal requirements in the various countries.
- Responsibility for Accounting functions – general ledger, review of reconciliations, process and procedures.
- Drive efficient and effective processes in Finance and Admin in the region.
- Delivery of required reporting to Asia management, Regional Finance on time, to a high standard, incorporating insightful analysis and commentaries.
- Leading the annual Budget process and timely monthly forecasting – review, focus on accuracy and taking action where needed to improve business results.
- Ensuring smooth deployment of Oracle EPM tools in Asia and SAP implementation.
- Actively participate in Asia’s Senior Exec Team and key decision making, providing commercial and financial guidance and support.
- Strong business partner to senior management providing constructive challenges and championing value creating opportunities.
- Oversight of Asia’s Project Controlling function.
- Management and oversight of Admin and Facilities functions in Asia.
- Insurance – renewal of information, policy queries, communication with brokers, claims.
- Supporting Sales & Legal with clarification and negotiation of commercial conditions for tenders, customer quotations and contracts.
- Treasury management – cashflow management and reporting, bank accounts management, payments, foreign exchange hedging, bank guarantees.
- Responsibility for internal audits and internal control systems.
- Comply with relevant statutory and legal requirements as required.
- Commit to and cooperate with Company’s quality management systems and processes.
- Any tasks reasonably assigned by management.
Work, Health, Safety & Environment (WHS&E) Responsibilities
- Ensure that work areas and equipment, under your control, are safe and without risk to health and safety. Minimize environmental impacts & prevent pollution.
- Ensure all hazards and incidents are identified, assessed, controlled and reported via reporting process.
- Provide appropriate instruction, information, training and supervision to workers, contractors, business partners, students and others to enable work to be carried out safely.
- Implement responsibilities as identified in Company’s Injury Management Program.
- Other responsibilities as outlined in WHS&E system documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with appropriate specialization.
- Membership of a professional accounting body.
- 15 years of experience in relevant positions.
- Senior level accounting knowledge and experience.
- Strong communication, leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
- Commercial focus and strong analysis and interpretation skills.
- Experience in a project delivery environment, with working knowledge of import/export operations. and foreign exchange transactions would be preferred.
- Experience with SAP is preferred.
- Collaborative approach and ability to interact with all levels of management.
